Technical information

The implant is a substitute for the natural root of the tooth; due to the fact that it is made of titanium, a biocompatible material, it does not interfere with bone growth and forms a structural and functional connection with the upper or lower jaw. We call it osseointegration. Placing a dental implant is the surgical part of the treatment, it does not replace the missing tooth. In order to restore the chewing function it is necessary to attach a prosthetic tooth. It is the second stage of the treatment, called prosthetics. It is performed approximately 10-12 weeks after the dental implant surgery. Teeth placed on implants are usually single unit porcelain crowns or dental bridges. In certain cases, dentures can also be used.
